Commandos is one of the great Spanish games in history. Pyro Studios created one of the most legendary games in our industry that is still remembered today. In fact, it is so well remembered that it seems we will be returning to it very soon. Although that soon won’t be as soon as we would like. Because we always want more Commandos, but it seems we will still have to wait a bit for that.
The next iteration of the game is called Commandos: Origins. It is developed by Claymore Game Studios and is a remake of the first game. And although we are very eager and the demo left us wanting more, we are afraid we will still have to wait a bit. It has been delayed until 2025.
The reason for this is to be able to polish the game. After a closed beta and the game’s launch, they have been gathering player feedback. And many criticisms have focused on some critical aspects that can still be modified. That’s why they have decided to take a few more months to release the best possible version of the game, making Commandos: Origins just as great as we remember the original Commandos to be.
What can we expect from the game?
This means several things. In addition to a general performance optimization, they will work on some other specific aspects. They will improve enemy AI, adjust controls, and modernize the loot system. All this while offering more customization options. At the same time, they will use this time to refine the user interface and user experience. Demonstrating, in a very detailed dev log, that they are very clear about the points where they can finish polishing the game.
Commandos: Origins will be released in March 2025 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. Additionally, it will be available on day 1 on GamePass. So you have no excuse to miss this return to one of the biggest franchises in Spanish video gaming.
